Black Sabbath are set to headline next year's Download Festival on June 10, it has been announced. The original line-up of the band - Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Bill Ward and Geezer Butler - announced at a press conference today (November 11)
METALLICA have been announced at the 10th Download Festival at Donington Park on Saturday 9 June 2012, with an exclusive UK performance of their best selling album Metallica, more commonly known simply as The Black Album.

The multi million selling, Grammy award winning act will visit Donington for the SEVENTH time in their career, having played both Monsters of Rock and Download Festivals – including the Monsters of Rock festival in 1991, the year The Black Album was released and Download 2006, where they headlined.

"I am absolutely bowled over that Metallica will be playing The Black Album at the 10th anniversary of Download," said Download band booker Andy Copping. "The Download Festival has come a long way since we first started in 2003 and to have Metallica back to help us celebrate this milestone is just fantastic."
