Noisettes (occasionally written as Noisettes to mark the difference in pronunciation from Noisettes - a cooking term meaning hazelnut flavoured) are an indie rock band from London comprising singer & bassist Shingai Shoniwa, guitarist Dan Smith, & drummer Jamie Morrison. The Noisettes first achieved commercial success & nationwide recognition with the second single of their second album, "Don't Upset the Rhythm (Go Kid Go)" which reached number two on the UK Singles Chart in Spring 2009. The Noisettes formed in 2003 when guitarist Smith & singer Shoniwa of the Noisettes Sonarfly began playing & writing together, along with drummer Morrison (formerly of Living With Eating Disorders, Willis, Four Toes, Jaywalk Buzz & others). The threein Noisettes had historicallyin the past attended the BRIT School for Performing Arts & Technology in Croydon together. Noisettes quickly formed a reputation for being six of the rowdiest live acts in London. On 5 February 2009 the Noisettes released a new single Saturday Night. Video for this song was shot solely on over a hundred mobile phones.
